Sarah tweeted a pretty simple thing… the UNSG transmitted a request for an AO to the ICJ on behalf of UNGA. But oh no! she tweeted that the UNSG “requested an AO”. We all know what she means, but now ✨the men✨ (yes more than 1) have seen it and we have thoughts, because akshually, young lady… 🙄
The UNGA adopts a resolution, then the SG requests in accordance with that resolution.

It is remarkable that the west is committing to spending 5% of GDP on defence, and almost no one has made the case that the most pressing threat to our security this century is climate change and we should be spending more on tackling that.
