UQM seemed pretty easy to mod... the .uqm packs are renamed zip files, and all the audio are ogg files, I think whatever files are present override the base game?
(every few years I start randomly humming the hyperspace theme and go, fine, and download it and unzip it and play the music in VLC lol)

Played UQM again, And I'm surprised the Children of Infinity demo I played feels so nice compared to this. Guess having new tech really DOES help! Won this fight, but feeling that itch to play around some more with the newer ships.
