#USCIS
There’s a big thread of baffled people on Reddit trying to figure out what the emails mean or if they’re real. They include:

- Citizens
- Canadians (living in Canada)
- Green card holders
- DACA recipients

Whatever dataset DOGE used was the wrong one. www.reddit.com/r/USCIS/comm...

One of the biggest moments of my career:
USCIS canceled my client’s naturalization oath ceremony. We filed a lawsuit, went to trial, and the judge swore him in right there in the courtroom!

It didn’t even take 6 hours.

I have been waiting for this signal from Senator Rand Paul.

Senator Paul, Chairman of Senate Homeland Security Committee follows House committee. Sends letters to heads of ICE, CBP, USCIS to testify in public hearing.

No idea why an Afghan refugee shot National Guard soldiers within walking distance of the White House, but this new USCIS directive was revealed on Monday. Worth noting.
The folks at @afghanevac.bsky.social have in hand a new USCIS directive which largely targets Afghan refugees who fled the Taliban in the wake of the U.S. withdrawal in 2021.

In case you needed a reminder that the most loathsome people in the world work for DHS.

Also, this might actually produce riots at USCIS.

These are a huge deal for them internally.

"USCIS adopted social media vetting for anti-Americanism."

this isn't even ERO it's in fuckin USCIS, good lord
Was randomly searching local jobs on usajobs.gov and most of them are immigration enforcement and these dumbasses are calling themselves “Homeland Defenders” and the job summary says “protect your culture.”

There is no need for ice to exist. If an immigrant is a criminal they’ll be apprehended via normal law enforcement agencies. Other than that, let them go through USCIS.

NEWS: The House Homeland Security Committee has confirmed a February 10 hearing with senior officials from ICE, CBP, and USCIS.

NEW: McCarthyism returns to immigration law, as @USCIS announces that it will begin screening applicants for immigration benefits for "Anti-America ideologies or activities." The term has no prior precedent in immigration law and its definition is entirely up to the Trump admin.

Yesterday USCIS began arresting people at their immigration interviews if they were out of status. Before yesterday, USCIS did not call ice unless a person had a removed order already. This is a significant escalation. These are people who are trying to get legal through the legal process.

The arrest of Mohsen Mahdawi garnered headlines, but less well known are the hundreds of other arrests that have taken place at USCIS, the administrative agency that adjudicates immigration benefit applications, which "facilitated 369 arrests at USCIS field offices since Jan. 20"

On reddit, a US citizen says they got a notice from DHS (with his middle name listed as his first name) declaring they owe $730,000 for failure to depart after a removal order.

Given DHS' outsourcing of skiptracing to contractors, suggests very poor investigations.

For the first time, #USCIS will create “special agents” with powers to carry firearms and make arrests.

Shev Dalal-Dheini (@aila.org) and @reichlinmelnick.bsky.social explain how this move defies Congress’ mandate and raises serious legal concerns.

Three separate policies (signed by Trump, Secretary Rubio, and USCIS head Edlow) now bar citizens of 92 countries from receiving immigrant visas. That covers roughly half of all legal immigrants entering the US from abroad.

USCIS has an office by mine in south Denver. They have a large parking lot full of brand new black Suburbans lined up. Looks like they are getting ready to ramp things up in Denver.

🚨BREAKING: A whistleblower is alleging that immigration agency USCIS directed officers to misrepresent themselves to access state voter records, then label people "unlawful voters" — including U.S. citizens — using unreliable data.

Story to come.
