In my opinion, the decision to make #USMLEpassfail would be improved by @TheUSMLE announcing a stepwise approach to eliminating scored tests: Step 1 in 2022, Step 2 CK in 2024, Step 3 in 2026.

Great work, @jbcarmody. As always. Whether you like #USMLEPassFail or not, let's roll up our sleeves and create a system that helps differentiate for those qualities that make a better physician.

I won’t mis Step 1 scores but I do worry:

Standardized tests historically bias against people without the resources to do costly test prep, but other CV builders- unpaid internships, extracurricular trips, away rotations-are even worse #USMLEPassFail

Not so fast on #USMLEPassFail. Standardized testing favors more affluent students, but other parts of CV are even more favorable to advantaged students- expensive away rotations, advanced degrees, etc. 1/
