Thought Thaksin was supposed to be advising Anwar on creating peace in Myanmar, not riling up conflict with the UWSA, one of the more powerful & since coup least military active EAOs.

Essentially Thaksin wants to revive his 2000s era "war on drugs", even endorsing Thai military action into Wa-controlled Myanmar. It's also an admission his often-boasted ties to the junta leadership (which ASEAN chair Anwar is tapping for) may not be as useful as hoped.
