One time when I worked at UWYO my department had a conference in Cokeville, and I said “I can’t go I prefer Pepsiville”. Stunned silence

One of my kids is a sophomore UWyo Laramie. The census population in 2020 was 32,511. The football stadium holds 29,181. The UWyo student count for fall is 10,819.......

I as a Wyoming alum: 😬

Good Luck UWyo Geo Department!
Brig. Gen. Shane Reeves (ret.), per reporting in the linked article, appears to be chiefly responsible for this vastly dishonest and shambolic dismissal.

Reeves just became the 29th President of the University of Wyoming.
A civilian geography professor was fired from West Point for pushing back after department officials barred faculty from teaching that humans contribute to climate change.

Hey UWyo we know y’all got it in you.
In an ideal world, every College and University in the States would have a mass protest and general strike tomorrow.
Criminalizing protest is a hallmark of authoritarian regimes

Did you know the University of Wyoming has a T-Rex on campus? #wyoming #cowboys #uwyo

My mom just sent this photo of me biking home from my PhD commencement (or maybe just from picking up the regalia) at UWyo in 2017

Weird feeling to be starting my new job as associate professor back here in one week, officially

Well, I think I'm shouting into the void since this is my first post, but I joined the migration from Twitter to Blue Sky 👋

I'm an ecologist who studies amphibians (frogs, toads, and salamanders) in Wyoming, USA. I'm also finishing my PhD at UWyo!

Here's me with my fave, a barred tiger sal!

Wait, oh my god, does your daughter attend UWyo?

My sister's university *also* had Charlie Kirk at a speaking event a couple weeks back and at one point during the day she was sitting on the lawn outside facetiming me while she watched all of the heckling.

Heh. Laramie. She should have known she would be walking into a hornet's nest down the street from UWyo
March 20, 2025 at 12:38 PM
please don’t be fooled by the nfl ad, uwyo is a horrible place and you should never come here

Happy #3DThursday everyone!

#Drosophila lovers -- check out this beautiful #microCT scan of the adult Drosophila, imaged by Dr. Todd Schoborg at UWYO! I've shown this data to hundreds of people, and most don't know what these structures are... do you?

Interested in competing or being part of an awesome community?

Then join the UWyo Esports Club! We host competitive teams for a variety of different games, while also being low commitment and available to all levels of skill!

We also host monthly casual game nights!

UWyo is similarly state-shaped (square) and I’ve wished they’d do that for years. “They” is about to be me when I become faculty there sooooo maybe someday “they” will

The tallest buildings in the state are in Laramie.

It's the UWyo dorms.

During undergrad I used to work with UWyo student health to distribute condoms, etc. at events. We'd clear a 1000 box at a single frat party. It's crazy how fast they go. I definitely got a few questions about having "Sexpert" on my resume after that.

Plus they want to make it more difficult for residents on the Wind River Indian Reservation, who tend to vote Dem, and who often don't have access to the documentation that whites do. As well as make it harder for UWyo students.

Oh 100%, but the operations going directly to UWyo is the absolute best possible outcome if they're going to force this through.
February 20, 2026 at 4:23 PM
Got to lead yesterday’s stops for the annual UWyo Rocky Mountain Field Trip up in the Medicine Bow Mountains! Good to be back.

UWyo (my alma mater) was the third to forfeit, and they had planned to play and then the legislature sent us a letter talking about how we're a "publicly funded land-grant university". They didn't outright say we'd lose funding if we played but it was pretty clear.

yep. if you've ever lived in wyoming, you know this. i'm a uwyo alum. 🙂
