Snippets from No Limits… Odyssey is a 5000-pound wonder balanced on 4 points. The artist’s quote on the wall is apt. It’s a remarkable piece to see up close.
White text on the black exhibit wall reads: “"My work is not about conquering scale but about inviting humility before the vastness we already inhabit."-Ranbir Sidhu” White text on black explains the sculpture beside it (shared in other photo). “Odyssey 2025 stainless steel, 24-karat gold, LED In this sculpture, Sidhu explores the concept of sacred geography. Translated here into monumental form, the clustered spires trace a symbolic voyage. The arrangement echoes the Udasis of Guru Nanak Sahib (1469-1539), who embarked on sacred journeys by foot across South Asia and beyond for over 20 years. Built from more than 1,000 mirror-polished and gold-plated stainless-steel components, the 5,000-pound structure balances on just four contact points, uniting engineering precision with aesthetic grace. This spiritual cartography, the artist explains, "signifies not just purity and enlightenment but also the way sacred architecture throughout history-whether Sikh sacred sites, Byzantine domes, Islamic minarets, or Renaissance cupolas-has invoked verticality and reflection to tether the human with the divine." “Odyssey” in the exhibit with the artist quote lit on the black wall behind it. The sculpture is many various metallic spires built in a reflection, with the same above and below a central golden ring. The spires look like stalactites and stalagmites, but also resemble towers on religious buildings. The entire structure glows and casts reflections on the floor and ceiling around it.
