I’m “ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction” years old, apparently
I looked at my birth year in merriam webster’s time traveler and I’m as old as the terms “thirtysomething,” “ADHD,” “SSRI,” and “emoticon.”

This feels a little too on-the-nose.

Happy 83rd Birthday Tommy John! ~ He won 288 games over 26 major league seasons, but will be best remembered as the first player to undergo ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction from Dr. Frank Jobe, now more commonly known as "Tommy John Surgery"! #MLB #Baseball #History

Do you place ULNAR arterial lines?

Why in 2025 are people still obsessed with RADIAL art lines?

The ULNAR artery is usual bigger & farther from the nerve.

Yes, the RADIAL is more superficial & easier to landmark but with POCUS it doesn’t matter!

Is RADIAL a holdover from the pre-POCUS times?

Someone close to me just went through surgery, and in looking back through my journals, remembered how pleasant it was to recover from my own (ulnar nerve transposition). Really just laid in bed, watched movies, smoked weed, and slept on and off for four days.

OOH OOH I KNOW THIS ONE! Ulnar nerve compression is the answer, easy to do when you're sleeping especially if you bend your arm or make weird hand positions - but you also have the median & radial nerves which still innervate the hand both front & back.

A student on TikTok has been documenting her journey with a professor who “wrote” the anatomy textbook and it’s all a bunch of AI hallucinations.

She’s saying that, understandably, the students are doing super poorly!

Behold what we’re teaching the healthcare professionals of tomorrow:
