#Ulsters
Thinking about this Austin 7 from the Super Nats again. What a brilliant little thing. Outside of Ulsters and specials, 7s don't really do it for me, but I'd love to bomb around in one like this.
One of my absolute favourites wasn't actually American. I *think* this is an Austin 7 though I could be mistaken. Stance is a lot more purposeful than any hardtop 7 I've ever seen though and the rough bodywork suits it perfectly too.

The Irish don't deserve that, but the Ulsters do. Ship this shit to Belfast

In the '30s, people built racers based on the Austin 7 saloon. These home brew-racers ran in a 750cc class populated mostly by "Specials". Either monoposto or 2 seater. The Austin works even built similar "Ulsters" to run in Irish TT events. I love these things. Wish I have built one years ago.

Well, the Irish already hate him. Might as well piss off the Ulsters too.

1. Ulster 🧵
One of the major talking points in Irish Rugby that's flying under the radar is Ulsters finances.
Results on the pitch are up and down and that's expected with such a young squad and the fact that their budget has been cut.

As long as Ulsters habit of scoring lots of tries carries through and we get a bonus point

Inspired by this I went looking for other specials etc. Always liked the shape of Ulsters, though the Austin 7-based stuff is often quite expensive - I assume because there are so many places to use them, race them etc vintageandclassiccars.co.uk/product/aust...

The current administration would've supported the Ulsters

Ulsters flowery vale
New euphemism just dropped
I just saw that the sleeve art for Ulster’s Flowery Vale (REC 28) was up for auction in February. No credit, but it must be by John Gillbe, who designed the sleeve.
The Belfast Telegraph said it was ‘a “twee” design for American tourists’. I’d have bid though. £35

“It was a bitter night, so we drew on our ulsters and wrapped cravats about our throats. Outside, the stars were shining coldly in a cloudless sky, and the breath of the passers-by blew out into smoke like so many pistol shots.” BLUE #SherlockHolmes

Btw I’ve just worn ‘outdoor’ slippers for the last 10 years, with a few exceptions in slippy conditions. Because of arterial ulsters 🥴

7. The likes of the national coaching team, the provincial coaching set ups etc will count towards some of it but no where near the shortfall needed. You can also look to Ulsters audited accounts for back up of their provincial budget.

Seeing Louis Ludik on my weekly Lidl shop shows me there’s hope for ulsters season next year. It’s that and me going “ but Jo he was my favourite ulster player” 😂
