🏺Sorry but everybody knows that the #Uluburun is in fact the GOAT Wreck ⚓ 😉
... but here'sa Q for ancient historians & archaeologists: what would be your dream "Holy Grail of shipwrecks" for the BCE era; a find that could answer a specific question, or reveal something theorised about the past?
Hailed as the 'Holy Grail of shipwrecks', a wreck off the coast of Colombia has been theorised to be the lost San José Galleon.

Analysis of coins from the wreck found they were minted in AD 1707, one year before the ship sank, substantiating the theory.

The errors in the article are too many to easily enumerate without a lengthy post, especially the fact that there is no bilingual bronze tablet from the Uluburun wreck…Nor am I at the University of Cincinnati...nor am I (or was I) the head of a team doing anything related to the Uluburun shipwreck.

We have actual archaeological evidence! The Uluburun Shipwreck is a late Bronze Age ship. I don’t think it’s specifically Mycenaean but the material culture of all the major LBA empires was pretty similar.

There was both elephant and hippo ivory in the 14th c BCE Ulu Burun shipwreck, which sank off the coast of Anatolia but carried items from all over the Eastern Mediterranean. #2026MMM

Finally got to see The Odyssey yesterday with my husband, a nautical archaeologist who spent two summers working on the Uluburun (the world's oldest shipwreck) from the Late Bronze Age. So naturally today we're watching videos about Bronze Age vessels vs. the Viking ship used in the movie.

Millions of moviegoers learned last weekend that the Mediterranean was a dangerous place 3,000 years ago. In 1982, archaeologists discovered the most spectacular evidence of that—a ship that never made it home. Go deeper with Uncovering Uluburun!

Gold pendant of a goddess, possibly Asherah, depicted as a Mistress of Animals, holding an antilope in each hand, 1300 BC.

The pendant is 9.1cm high and was discovered on shipwreck of Uluburun, sunken in Mediterranean Sea at south cost of Turkey.

6/? Nobody was keeping bees anywhere else in the world yet.

Bee-keeping took thousands of years to spread around the world. It first spread out of Egypt with the expansion of New Kingdom power up the Eastern Mediterranean coast around 1500 BC; here beeswax is used to make a writing-tablet.
