#UnderBudget
#8: Ichi the Killer
ahhhh, Miike!
A man who, by all means, would have a very good career as a millitary commander. It takes something along the lines of talent to make this many movies this on time, and this often underbudget.

Providing 2.1m rides. 88% of 2019 levels
Updating ridership count to use on-bus trackers instead of fares, more accurate. They're working on tackling fare evasion - 16% issue
Now underbudget due to understaffing (working to fill) & higher sales tax revenue - putting towards service

Seems like a job that takes a week to do would not come in underbudget

I think a good rule of thumb for North American gov't infrastructure executives is that if you're hiring somebody who non-experts know the name of, that's probably a very bad sign for their ability.

Nobody here makes the news because they've delivered projects that have been wildly underbudget.

“Funded by Great Patriots and Corporations and, therefore, is a gift—At no cost to the American Taxpayer”

🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

FYI: It’s impossible to be “underbudget”, when there was no budget in the first place.

The KC IATSE crew are some of the best in the business. Riffing them shows the world you know nothing about how to produce live events safely, efficiently, and either at or underbudget.
IATSE Local 868 & B868 members and allies held an informational picket outside the Kennedy Center to protest the Center using a temporary shutdown to permanently eliminate union jobs.

Congressman @repdarrensoto.bsky.social (D-FL) came and stood in solidarity with the workers!

Okay small good local news, the NY MTA appears to be getting it's shit together? (Blessing was start of project, which was on time and *UNDERBUDGET*?) Pretty unheard of in NYC

i'm so glad the us government is killing such useless gov orgs like the FDA to focus on what really matters, like our criminally underbudget military and police force.

I often imagine my life being commentated on by Kevin McCloud. I have grand ambitions, I underbudget, have no idea what I'm doing, I'm never watertight, I lack the proper permits and I'm definitely not to everyone's taste. And if you revisit me five years later, I'm still not finished.

TIL there is a difference between 'under budget' and 'underbudget.'

To clarify, my trip came in under budget - I set more money aside than I actually spent, which is why I'm feeling frisky and might spend ten dollars on a single card on Sunday.
I just crunched the numbers and I came in hilariously underbudget for Minneapolis, so I might fuck around and treat myself to a ten dollar card at EDH Night on Sunday.

It's always a nice feeling when you check your bank account after a Magic event and realize you came in underbudget.

No - I think I was MP tacops and ran movie sets that were underbudget and complex and had many increasingly dangerous personalities involved. I think I'm old and anger drives my blood pressure up but solutions make me swoon. I'm trying to win. Not against you. Against THIS.

How can it be underbudget when each month the budget goes up another hundred million

If it’s anything like in Montréal, police overtime budget has no cap. Every fiscal year is a surprise how much they’ll blow over, and these events are cash cows for cops trying to inflate their salaries. The dept loves it because they can underbudget and the city will cover payroll no question asked

Megaforce (1982)
this is a movie I like almost entirely for the last 1/3rd of it. It's a pretty infamous '80s bloated yet underbudget action mediocrity but for whatever reason when the hero & villain meet in act 3 it becomes just insanely compelling

Re: Corman. I understand his notoriety. Underbudget, ahead of schedule, and he had a remarkable eye for talent. Plus he always kept his eye on the ball (profit) in an industry full of bad actors (hehe).

But his movies? Come on, now. Those things are shit. And I have watched them.

Technically these are different parts of speech entirely - “underbudgeted” is an adjective you apply to a subject part. “Under budget” is an adverbial idiom. “Underbudget” isn’t a word, so in the context of your original statement, it makes sense as the latter, and would make no sense as the former
