I should add that you can also take an old pc (even a laptop) and use an external drive array too.
Hell you can just run Ubuntu on it and all the above things. I like Unraid as I like using different size drives, parity and most apps being docker containers so if they fail, the server stays up.

You can probably find a cheapish server out there as you don’t need much and start even with cheap refurb 250GB drives.
One with Intel Quicksync, you don’t need a GPU for transcoding but even a GT710 will do fine.

If I must have Win for something I'll spin up a VM on the Unraid server. The laptop is ancient and really slow but Linux is much more tolerable.

Fair, I read the wrong half. For anyone landing here later: the Unraid plugin publishes the GUI itself, and Settings, Management Access lists the tailnet URLs it made. Turning on Tailscale HTTPS also puts the machine name into public CT logs.
