The good news with today's RCV announcement from Rivian is you could build a camper van - Grounded did the same thing with a BrightDrop van. You would need to form an LLC, order the minimum quantity of RCV, become an upfitter, and then build the camper.

According to the upfitter, the modified aircraft has a full ISR package consisting of (in part) a Wescam MX10 EO/IR camera, Shotover ARS750 augmented reality overlay system, Avalex video recording, and a Technisonic TDFM tactical radio.

It cannot serve the same function as AF-1 because unless highly classified tech and info was given to the builder/upfitter, it won’t have the airborne command center capabilities & other stuff that a real AF-1 has. It’s just a bribe.

Yup. Buying one of these rolling units makes it easy to roll two chassis onto a train car/truck/whatever and ship them to an upfitter who chops them apart and bolts them to their own rear chassis.

The automobile industry employs MASSIVE amounts of people on BOTH sides of the border ("The BoArDeR!"), with many companies like GM having a plant in Michigan, then an upfitter plant/storage in Canada for the same vehicles, etc.

I have done very little of this, so we’ll see how it goes. But I’m pretty handy and have a sledgehammer, so it shouldn’t be too hard. Biggest pain will probably be getting the power through the firewall to the upfitter block. I also want to add a strobe, and remote front plugin jumper cables.
