I feel like I've heard or seen something about changeling urdragon either in a show with @josephmschultz.bsky.social (maybe spell slayers) or maybe @levdev.bsky.social discussed it at some point? Or maybe both? 🤔

And yeah top commanders are linear I get it. But some are more than others. Edgar is always vampires, UrDragon is always dragons. While Atraxa tends to default to the typical Superfriends/+1+1/Poison strats (notice how they are 3 distinct ones) it is more open ended for more weird counter-based play

no i complained about that too this card in particular is just So Boring. atleast urdragon, edgar, and even atraxa invoke a specific theme

I was running Edger, and there was another upgraded precon at the table. Every single week, the three of us would get smashed by the Urdragon.
Eventually, my partner draws (her deck cannot search this) Heliod Ballista combo and kills us all with it. This is after about 7 weeks of loses.

One of my favorite late-game plays in casual 5c Dragons with Teneb is to triple activate Scion of the Urdragon to dump (anything), then Bladewing, then Teneb. Smack, Teneb trigger gets back Bladewing gets back something else.

The issue I run into with Urdragon changelings is that for ever piece of obscure type synergy you add into the deck means one less changeling to trigger off of it and you soon get to needing to draw Maskwood Nexus for the deck to minimally function.

Been playing a lot of #mtg recently. Finally have a shop nearby. Mostly been #edh just finished a pauper edh deck with Ich-Tekik and Rebecc. Very fun and weird for WG.
