#Urfa's
📖 "And he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulcher and departed." - Matthew 27:60

🪨 Just in case you ever wondered how this might've looked (here the Roman era rock tombs in Urfa's Haleplibahçe neighbourhood).

Recorded in 1975 as a demo to woo labels, Yezda Urfa’s ‘Boris’ was rejected for being “too complex.” Today, it’s a Holy Grail of American Prog. It’s fast, chaotic, and technically brilliant. This is top notch Noble Records version!

How about a new series "Museum pieces and where they're coming from"? 🏛️🏺

This time: The only female depiction from early #Neolithic #Göbeklitepe (so far) in Urfa's archaeological #museum … and the flagstone bench in the so-called Lions Pillar Building at the site.

Only now realising kind of #necropolis #continuity here at #Urfa's old town: modern #cemetary literally right on top of 1st ct. #RockTombs.

North Carolina's Noble Records has reissued one of my favorite weirdo 70s prog records, the 1975 album "Boris" by Chicago's Yezda Urfa. I strongly recommend you check this out if you like the right kind of things.

Lately, have been so disoriented, I genuinely thought it was three-in-the-morning.

Then again, it could be the Yezda Urfa.

In Şanlıurfa’s Sayburç, one of the key sites of Türkiye’s “Taş Tepeler Project,” archaeologists plan to preserve 9,000-year-old Neolithic remains while also creating a unique village museum that highlights the region’s mid-20th-century rural life.

If I play Yezda Urfa's seminal 1975 LP Boris for enough girls eventually one of them will think it's cool and want to make out with me, I just need to keep trying

Kinda related kinda not: does Turkey’s Arabs and/or Hatay have any voice or do AKP shakers & movers care what border regions may be concerned about? Probably a silly question but just thinking of the chat around Urfa’s Balıkligöl, for example.

With the URFA’s anyone realistically the Wolves can sign who can produce, or will they have to trade for one?

@MasterFrolicker Yes, Urfa's quite something to offer to the traveller. Interesting to observe how much town's changing over the last years.

Just had another glimpse at #Urfa's new #museum, soon to be opened. That's gonna be a blast! Lots of our #Gobeklitepe finds!

Well, and since I'm here already - here's a snapshot of #GöbekliTepe's so-called #Neolithic totem pole on display in #Urfa's museum.

Also looks like work on 1st century #Edessa #RockTombs in #Urfa's old town's progressing. Fond memories of exploring these caves years ago.
