(btw, this is actually meant *literally* by the Isengarder Uruks - the Northerners they were passing were Mordish Orcs, who could not withstand sunlight (something the Uruk-hai were specifically bred by Saruman to overcome), so... actually *cooked* cooked)

the language of murder is used as a tutorial element where it has me press rt to enter stealth mode then press x while behind my wife to kiss her. immediately after this, i’m taught to press rt and x to stealth kill uruks. there’s no space in this game for love aside from hastily repurposed violence

Yeah I think Black Uruk scans. I am definitely on the side that in the text, orcs and uruks and goblins are all the same creature essentially. But in the PJ films, they have distinct enough designs as independent species. The Uruks are a lot more muscular and man-sized and have specific faces

One of the best things this show does is to give us a presentation of the Uruks as an actual people, not just cannon fodder. Which makes them all the more tragic.

There does seem to be a blending in the films of the concept of "half-human-half-orc" and "uruk hai" which then transitively carries over to all uruks. Again I am fine with this but apparently there are many people very pissed off about it

Nothing of what Morgoth did can be erased. Same as Beleriand cannot return from the depths of the sea, the Uruks must not be wiped from Middle Earth or left under Morgoth’s succesors rule.
