This story makes it sound like the major problem is that the Trump Admin did this w/in 60 days of an election. Yes, that's a real abuse. But the major problem is they're basically threatening to denaturalize an opposition legislator, based on racist insinuations. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/12/u...

this news bummed me out very hard. The article did however include this sentence: "Oncologists said prior to the operation that even if the nodule turned out to be cancerous, Leo’s prognosis is “excellent” since it will have been removed at an early stage."

yeah this is what’s really jarring, we’re used to trump press secretaries getting up and spewing blatant lies and picking propaganda outlets for softball questions and denigrating real reporters
