Apparently uveitis is a common symptom of my autoimmune arthritis (axial spondyloarthritis) which feels wild to me.

You are right. There are about 6 autoimmune diseases that have a specific genetic configuration in chromosome 6 (HLA-B*27).
PsA and anterior uveitis are two of them.

Here's what my diagnosis involved, in Edinburgh last year.

My first symptom was blurred vision. The optometrist diagnosed a second episode of uveitis, and it didn't occur to anyone that there could be another reason for it.

I spent a month consulting my GP about escalating symptoms.

My uveitis flared this week.
Saw my optician Friday.
App't made with my eye Consultant at the hospital today.
Allan, my first eye implant has run out.
So on Thursday I'm getting implants in BOTH eyes.
Some pain, then 12 hours of pretty bad pain, then 3 months of clearish vision.
Bravo Scottish NHS.

I am. I was going through trying to diagnose an eye disease. They had me on & off prednisone which kicked my butt.
Finally diagnosed (birdshot uveitis), off prednisone, trying to lose that weight, and on humira biosimilar which is managing the eyes well.

Going for more blood work and x rays. Her intern was pretty sure it is psoriatic arthritis but the doctor wasn’t having it. I know there is something wrong with me. She said “ well I can give you drugs if that’s what you want” but it’s not what I want. Said the scleritis and uveitis could be a fluke
