For 2024 data, I have plotted collision efficiency q vs. LA-AA. Note that q removes variation due to both bat speed and pitch speed (q=(EV-vbat)/(vpitch+vbat). It peaks close to LA-AA=0, just as I would expect. Note that I have reversed the horiz and vert axes from your plot.

Ukrainians posing with a US-supplied V-BAT drone.

Second picture give you a better idea of what the VBAT looks like.

Additionally both sides not having any ground based IAMD, specifically short range antidrone capes, is something I need to think about, because as played VBAT and TUAS just kind of keep farting around indefinitely until the controlling unit is killed, which probably isn't entirely realistic

Took some time and started to tinker with the epaper display. Still need to figure out graphics and translate the VBAT information, but this works for what I need for now.

For the US side JCCs were again entirely attached ones due to the relative baseline weakness of its forces. Usual UGV, log, VBAT, quadcopter, and drone swarm, along with unmanned boats and UUVs for the naval forces

Turn 1:
- Naval moves on both sides
- US uses VBAT to uncover a stack of PLANMC units and dumps a HIMARS strike into it; initial bad rolls but I forgot I had a quadcopter equipped inf unit within striking distance so recollection magic 1 Type 05 platoon destroyed and hits against the other+Type 15s

It's a bit hard to see, but after shining a light at the right angle it looks like the VBAT pin exists, just bent inwards and not available externally. From the datasheet I gather that the RAM Clear pin is internally pulled up, so it could be used to measure the internal battery voltage. 0V on mine.

More UI and sensor integration work finished. VBAT is still drunk, so I removed it but still log it for calibration later.

@covertshores.bsky.social - not great. VBat viable alternative?

That would make me a Vbat :3

It tried and actually did pretty well (R9 is wrong).

-VBAT is only 1.276V. This is the voltage for the CMOS battery. For comparison, mine is 3.168 - 3.3V.

The two major things I've noticed that would impact stability/cause any issues would be the chipset temps and VBAT voltage.

the max possible EV is determined by the speed of the bat and the pitch via the formula:
vmax = vbat×(1+q) + vball×q

where,
• the velocities are measured immediately prior to impact
• vbat is the velocity of the head of the bat
• q is the “collision efficiency”

Interesting observation. My estimate based on lots of previous work I have done: An increase of bat speed by 1 mph increases HR probability (pHR) by 18%. In general, if I fit the data you show to the form pHR=A*exp(a*vbat), then I find a=0.165, which is very close to the 0.18 I estimated.
WE ALL KNOW BAT SPEED MATTERS BUT MY GOODNESS

if the bat were rotating about the knob: the knob would be stationary, the head would be moving at vbat, and a point r inches from the head of the bat would be moving at vbat×(L-r)/L

Assuming a 33” bat, the sweet spot ~6” down would be moving at 81.8% the reported bat speed.

I found the datasheet for this VT82887, and also another one for VT82885. Comparing them, I suspect the VT82887 I have is just a VT82885 with internal crystal oscillator and battery encapsulated. If that's the case, then I have the location for what should be the VBAT pin.

Will do. It was the output from my charge circuit into the MOSFET which switches between VBAT and VUSB. Because I had rogue trace, there was massive noise along the entire power bus. This messed with the QSPI SO/SI.

TBH: I thought the LDO would have resolved it but it too was loaded with noise.

Looks like pretty similar, this is the nrf52840, I'd have to check if you could get away with vbat mode or just standby on the stm32g0 side.
January 18, 2025 at 2:31 PM
Stimmt, das würde schon reichen. Hab mal wieder zu kompliziert gedacht. 🙈

Muss ja nicht exakt sein. Die typische VBAT-Spannung ist 3 V. 3,6 V ist genau die Grenze des erlaubten.
