The strong ESE winds blew in a new species for the garden (probably from Dartmoor) - The Anomalous. It's also a new 10km square for VC2 and a new species to me. #teammoth

It turns out that this hybrid Elephant Ears found naturalised on cliffs near Downderry, on a #newyearplanthunt is a first confirmed record for this species in VC2 East Cornwall.

The largest total of moths this year in the traps this am. c1500 Large Yellow Underwing covered every egg-tray, making it impossible to spot other species. Tebenna micalis was a long awaited first. Also, Euchromius ocellea (Silver-spotted Veneer) the migrant highlights, St Mellion, VC2. #teammoth

Hodebertia testalis (Cream Pearl), to light at St Mellion, SE Cornwall (VC2) on night of 30/5. In fact I think there were two but one flew out before I had a chance to pot it. I believe this is the 4th British record, a first record for mainland Cornwall and the most inland record. #teammoth
