What a damn show. Not as insane as last years was but still a lot. And every damn time some 30-something comes to my table and starts gushing about seeing stuff they grew up with, it reminds me that this is all worth it. Because the mid-00s is very under-represented here.

Couldn't make it to #VCFwest this weekend, but I found the #VCF livestream from yesterday. I'm a local, 15 mins away. I should have gone! Maybe NeXT time I'll exhibit with my #NeXT Workstations. 🤓

the first time i saw fortran live since i tried to write something in it on a 3270 terminal when i was 10 years old. this one was running on RT11 OS on a custom DEC machine at #vcfwest #vcf.

today, i got to use xerox’s operating system that was also used on xerox alto. this ran on a xerox viewpoint (ca 1985). it felt quirky but not much more than a barebones olwm. #chm #vcf #vcfwest
