We are thrilled to receive the latest review of our #VCHShort for #Cradley in Herefordshire by Della Hooke, published in Landscape History.

As well as offering generous praise of the contents, Dr Hooke also provides an elegant summary of what our Shorts and Partnership Publications are for. 1/2 🗃️
The publication of individual parish studies in advance of the final 'VCH Red Books' is a momentous step which brings the history of these parishes easily within reach of a much wider audience and provides scope for detailed studies incorporating much local knowledge and research. The parish maps for Cradley are an extremely useful addition, clearly showing the boundaries of the parish and the main sites within it. A small section of Cradley was indeed transferred to Mathon Urban (renamed West Malvern) in the late nineteenth century. Cover of The Victoria History of Herefordshire, Cradley.
