DEI programs are just Equal Opportunity programs by a different name. And equal opportunity is what USERRA and VEVRAA are built upon. Almost every DEI program I’ve come across has a veteran initiative as part of their program. So yes. Veterans are a DEI hire.

*sigh* The Executive Order is bad enough without making it even worse in your head. It repeals EO11246. It doesn’t repeal Title VII, VEVRAA, or Section 504. It doesn’t ban contractors from having DEI programs. It makes them certify that any DEI program they have doesn’t violate federal law.
