This is cool. My fav GPS factoid is that it requires knowing very accurately the position of distant supermassive blackholes (quasars). The earth and satellites are all in motion, so we need #radioastronomy techniques to provide a fixed frame of reference. Very accurate clocks help with that too. 📡

For those who wonder if this is important: Robledo is Spain's Radio telescope and deep space radio antenna. It covers 120 degrees of NASA's communications for anything currently flying around from Voyager downwards. It is also a pretty important part of Europe's VLBI. 1/
