Latest SVT-AV1 builds are very impressive. I'm getting slightly better VMAF scores while encoding at higher FPS yet smaller file results compared with libx265 most of the time now.

I need an AB-AV1 port for my phone i swear to all that is yeraning.
VMAF is by no means the best metric but at the same time taking an oversized 144MB phone video and making it to 7MB with 95.23% vague visual quality metric is INSANE.

Capture card latency testing and VMAF comparisons for video encoding are showing up everywhere now.

On 18 November 2026, at approximately 15:30:47 local (L), the mishap aircraft (MA), an F-35B aircraft, tail number (T/N) 69-4201, crashed while performing a hover-in-flight maneuver in downtown Los Angeles. The MA was operated out of MCAS Miramar, by Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 311 (VMAF-311).
