I think I got these at my first KubeCon in 2019 or VMworld.
They are still in rotation until they fully develop holes

whatever the result of Broadcom's acquisition of VMware will be in the end, the sour taste from how the transition was handled will prevail for years to come. VMworld will be interesting this year (if it even happens)

I know this bc I did a presentation at VMWorld in 2015 or 16 about SSD FUD, and my first slide was the # of ppl killed in ridiculous ways, ie, by vending machines, roller coasters, cows, etc...
Compared to how many failed SSDs we'd (company) seen in 5 years. 0.

On average, around 20 ppl/yr are killed by cows in the US.

There was a time that I would have been at or at least watching VMware Explore/VMworld. Weirdly, now I just think "Meh". It's easy to think that was due to the Broadcom acquisition, but VMware had lost its way before that time.

The view from my room at the W hotel in Barcelona 10 years ago today (VMWorld, prob). That is a clothing optional beach, which is *not* as glamorous as one would think.

Anyone need a brand new VMworld 2012 backpack? I’m sure someone out there still uses theirs!

It’s been a long time since Inwas on vBrownBag (unless the VMworld…err…VMware Explore stage counts)…but could I get added too?

One for the old heads… I literally explained the appeal of re:Invent to someone as “what VMworld used to be ~15 years ago: you don’t go for the vendor hosting it, you go for everyone else who’s there”!

Booked flights for #AWS #re:Invent in Nov. First time going & will be working the #DeepRacer event. Looking forward to going but not excited about 6 days in Vegas (have to be there early for setup/testing). Also, interested to see COVID numbers out of VMworld as DefCon numbers keep growing.
