#VOTER
Today I was canvassing in South Minneaplis with my friend @mrotzie.bsky.social and met with a voter who moved back to Minnesota after some time out east, planning to vote Dem but wasn't familiar with what is at stake with the AG race and making sure we reelect Keith. This is why canvassing matters.

Far-Right Election Groups Are Now Targeting Nursing Homes
Inspired by new guidance from the Trump administration, right-wing election groups are targeting nursing homes, baselessly claiming that left-wing groups are stealing residents’ votes.

If someone walks up to me and declares themselves a conservative, Republican voter, I say straightaway, "Next! Cancel! Don't waste my time with your lies, gaslighting, grifting, garbage." Is that wrong of me? Only so many minutes in the day, seems foolish to flush them down the toilet like that.

I, personally, would not go on the record with a reporter to announce I’m in favor of destroying the playground my kid is currently loving because I drive to work once a week (and the road still wouldn’t go there anyway), but everyone lives their lives differently I guess

This widespread voter fatigue is a direct negative byproduct of political polarization. However, the more exhausted we are, the more we must channel that anger into action

Also after reading about Australia's mandatory voting, opening up to that. You can always spoil your ballot but it could help stop voter suppression such as the UCP employs.

The collapse of local journalism means you get NYT anthropology trips to profile the Median Voter but can't see as much about what's pissing people off on the plains.

I suspect even people like Rounds don't have as good of an *ongoing* sense of the local mood as they would have done 20 years ago.

Correct me if Im wrong… isn’t it illegal for convicted felons to register to vote in Florida? One of the many ways to throw people off the voter rolls?

A follow up question… isn’t the Tangerine Shitgibbon registered to vote in Florida?

I am also thinking maybe mandatory voting is a good idea. You can always spoil your ballot.

My rationale here is parties like the UCP engaging in voter suppression. And in the USA, the GOP.
