エンコードしたやつ、非公開でYouTubeに投げたらvp09コーデックでエンコードされてた。一応その扱いではあるんだ

ちょっとこのとき以来調べてないので、情報古いかもですが…「アップロードする動画が2560*1440以上だとVP09になるという記事も見かけたけど、過去に投稿したのを見たら1920*1080であってもエンコード設定によってはavc1(H.264)じゃなくてVP09になっていた⇒これ条件はよくわからない」っていうじぶんのメモ見つかったので共有です。

My latest upload got wrecked by YouTube’s double compression — first AVC1 at 1080p, then VP09 after reprocessing 😩 Re-rendered in 1440p w/ full color & higher bitrate, then tested 2048×1152p which also triggers VP09 without faking 1440p. Much cleaner now 🎬

I finally found the solution to my pixelated YouTube Videos.
YouTube is using 2 codecs, AVC1 and VP09.
Videos from 144p to 1080p will get AVC1 and Videos bigger than 1440pwill get VP09.

VP09 has a way better image quality than AVC1.

But now rendering my Video to 2K takes 100GB of space 😮‍💨

Any creators out there have advice on uploading 1080p/60 to YouTube?

I set up OBS and the recording quality is fantastic local. I did a few test uploads and they all get really pixelated randomly, though.

I've tried upscaling to 1440 and 1152 for the VP09 codec and still get inconsistency. Help?

映像エンコーダをNVENC HEVCにしてる理由は、YouTube配信でRTX 30シリーズのグラフィックカードを使っているから。
レート制御はライブ配信だからCBR。NVIDIAのobsガイドでは1440p,HEVCでの推奨ビットレートが12Mbpsだけど、フロントラインは動きが多いことと、何通りか変更して試して一番画質がよかった20000 Kbpsにした。
他のパラメータはNVIDIAのobsガイドで推奨された値を使用。
基本解像度と出力解像度の値を同じにしたのは縮小フィルタによる劣化を避ける為と、1440pで配信することでYouTube側のエンコーダにvp09を選んでもらう為。

昨日フロントラインのオープニングとエンディングのシーンを1080pから1440pに作り直しました。理由は配信中の映像が1440pなので、同じ解像度に合わせてないと荒く見えちゃうからです。

どうして1440pにしてるかというと、YouTubeのcodecsをvp09にしたかったからです。codecsはYouTubeが勝手に決めちゃうんだけど、去年実際に調べた感じだと、1080pだとavcっていうcodecsで、1440pだとvp09っていうのを使ってくれるみたい。あとav01っていうのもあるみたいです。最近は選択基準が変わってるかもしれません。
