#VSCS
Again, congrats to George and Red Bull. Pretty good race. Much better than Madring…

Let’s have a race with better officiating where I’m not mad about bad VSCs or lack of them!

Enjoying Jacques Villeneuve saying VSCs are stupid and they should've used the normal SC in Madrid.

I mean I disagree, VSCs work well when they are done properly, but his point that everyone should have equal chance to pit is absolutely right.

Multiple VSCs and yellow flags. Shame this one starts at 7am my time because the race could be wild if FP1 is any preview

A look inside the technologies powering tomorrow’s grids. 👀

New expert insights from a research team in the USA reveal why voltage‑source converters (VSCs) and evolving semiconductor devices will dominate.

Much more interesting discourse than VSCs Are Bad, Actually 😅

Same thing happened with the fastest lap point. It cost Norris - once - and they binned it, and it was a shit decision then, and a shit decision now.

VSCs are part of F1 - they sometimes go for you - like Lando's first win - and sometimes against.

Deal with it.

Watched the 8 minute race highlight thing on YouTube for the F1 because I was up hills. The BBC running a “should F1 change the rules” article about VSCs just because the guy that’s has previously had luck with safety cars didn’t yesterday is ridiculous #F1
September 14, 2026 at 8:51 AM
Absolutely, but if it costs positions the impact can be far higher. Safety cars are far from ideal, VSCs are still relatively new, the drivers and teams work to improve these over time as safety & other factors require, the last thing needed is a media crusade over Lando being impacted in one race

All Stroll does this season is make VSCs happen. Good pit stop for Franco

These cells are "Viscid Gland Cell" (VSCs, the glue-makers) & "Releasing Gland Cell" (RGCs, the anti-glue makers).

The VSCs make long chains of secreted glycoproteins with lots of non-polar amino acids that form sticky granules.

RGCs break these polymers apart, releasing the glue.

Probiotics Show Promise in Reducing Halitosis Among Older Adults
This study investigates the effectiveness of Lacticaseibacillus paracasei TISTR 2688 probiotics in reducing halitosis (bad breath) among older adults. Conducted as a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover trial involving 30 participants with clinically diagnosed halitosis, the research measured volatile sulfur compound (VSC) levels and oral health parameters. Results showed significant reductions in VSCs (hydrogen sulfide, methyl mercaptan, dimethyl sulfide) and improvements in plaque index, gingival index, and bleeding index after 14 days of probiotic supplementation compared to placebo. The findings suggest that this probiotic strain may effectively modulate oral microbiota, offering a potential adjunctive treatment for halitosis. However, further research with larger sample sizes and longer follow-up periods is recommended to confirm these results. The study highlights the role of probiotics in addressing oral health issues, particularly in aging populations where halitosis is prevalent.

variable speed compressors are a relatively new phenomenon and work better on larger pumps than smaller; a fridge circuit is much smaller than an hvac and also its parts have to occupy less volume so VSCs aren’t yet worthwhile. plus they need a much lower cold leg temperature than an a/c does
