If you haven't heard of VTvsICE or Vtubers Against ICE before, it's a charity event where vtubers get together to stream for a charity supporting immigrants.

Our first VTvsICE raised funds for ACLU, American Civil Liberties Union, for a total of $25,803.89!

You guys know how I mentioned i was gonna raise money for the ACLU?

Let's just say, I'm not alone, and this has turned into a big event with over a dozen different vtubers involved.

Here's the campaign link, with more info as well.

What's going on? ICE is currently in Los Angeles, a Sanctuary City, conducting large-scale immigration sweeps, targeting workplaces and restaurants. The California National Guard and Marines have been mobilized to the city, and tear gas and rubber bullets have been used against protestors. Ice is expected to be in the city for at least 30 days. What is the ACLU? The American Civil Liberties Union fights to defend people’s rights and against government abuse. ACLU supports many causes including immigration rights, trans rights, and reproductive freedom. It uses its funds for education, litigation, and lobbying. What is VTvsICE? VTvsICE is a group of VTubers fundraising for ACLU in the wake of the raids in LA. We are organized by WrongTypeofHero, featuring a variety of VTubers, PNGTubers, artists, etc. who will all be streaming for the event. The event will last from JULY 16 to AUGUST 1. How can I help? If you can’t donate (which is totally OK!), just watching the streams or spreading the word will help a lot! You can also get involved directly— go to protests or support protestors, share information, call your Representatives, and utilize ACLU’s resources. Maybe you can pass out water at protests, make art or graphics to help educate people and raise awareness, or just talk to your friends about it!

As of now, VTvsICE has been passed down to the other volunteers including myself. WrongTypeofHero will no longer be involved with Vtubers Against ICE.

I will be working with current volunteers internally to reorganize.

I've reviewed the document provided by @dreamercidal.bsky.social along with the video provided. I'll be offline for the weekend to discuss with current and past volunteers to figure out next steps for VTvsICE.

I'll share updates when it's time. Thank you for your patience.🙇

I'm aware of a doc regarding someone I am collaborating with. I'm waiting for his response & more details before I make my decision.

At this time, I'm busy irl. Need to recover after a long work day and I don't have enough energy.

Thank you to those who notified me.

Fuck ICE, but also, fuck transphobes.

I swear how many VTuber initiatives are gonna be tainted by an organizer being an asshole? It was VSonas before and now the VTvsICE. Gross.

For Twitch to allow ICE to play their ads on their site a few days after VTvsICE was able to hit their goal is a big slap in the face to everyone who contributed to that charity.
