Let the dog out, checked air pressure. G front, good. Rear? Way too soft.
Filled it up, and it's the valvestem interface.
I noted that the tube was feeling pretty tired/worn but put it back in, was holding air
I have more like this than anything. Tubes just wear out when you don't get punctures

Big rain coming, need the full fenders for tomorrow's bike commute.
Studded tires are off.
Worked way too hard on the front tire. I forget that it is an asymmetrical rim. And it's tool free on one side or nearly impossible on the other (on and off).
Let's see if I remember that next time.

What a shame they didn't have 3d printers back then.. a device like the end of a bike pump.. same Schrader valve that attaches to the valvestem and then you just leave it on and walk away. No permanent damage, but tire's now totally flat.

It is a 'new' technique, one discovered out of necessity w/tubeless tire installation. There's just about zero downside to finishing at the valvestem, and is now the convention across all styles (tubes/no tubes - tubulars/sew-ups obvs excepted).

I do like those light up valvestem caps, plus they are more visible than the reflectors (at night when visibility is most important)
