The MoD had announced £1.5bn 'strategic partnership' deal with US tech firm Palantir.

That's strategic for the US in the same way that the US have strategic nuclear weapons.

Palantir is partially CIA funded and seems to be inserting itself into key UK infrastructure, including the NHS and defence.
