Vaughters interviews over the years have always been the most telling of the most common attitude. Always open about (or unable to hide?) the "I'd love to do it but my main interest is men's cycling and there is almost no sacrifice or risk to my men's team I would be prepared to accept" attitude.

Reading the recent stuff from Plugge and Vaughters, my view is strengthened that a lot of cycling commentary is realising that just because Marc Madiot is insanely French and Frenchly insane does not mean he’s not right in what he has been saying for a while.
