"refusing to use AI is a vector for oppressing the poor" lol
my nuclear-grade AI hot take that’s sure to get me cancelled until kingdom come is that refusing to use AI at all is rapidly becoming an extremely privileged lifestyle choice that feels social justice-y while actually being the complete opposite
being anti AI is a luxury belief only available to first world people, especially Americans
imagine how important machine translation is for people whose first languages aren't that common

people also don't seem to realize that "token" can be anything we can encode as a vector, which turns out to be everything we can represent to ourselves as any kind of concept.
It's October of 2026 and I'm still seeing people say that AI is useless because it's just a next token predictor.
Have all the criticism you want. But if you haven't noticed what kind of things a "next token predictor" is capable of given the right harness, then you're not paying attention.

Another reason to not use AI is of course that it's a vector for not only corporate censorship but outright manipulation. You are prompting a system built by and designed to serve corporations' version of reality. And open models won't save you; they're distilled from the corporate models.
Among things Meta did in Brazil was have their AI bot within WhatsApp allow users to generate election poster for Flavio but deny requests to do so for Lula. When folks asked for posters for invented candidates, AI tagged them with #22 - Flavio's # - in a country where folks vote by #.
In a joint letter to Mark Zuckerberg, ranking members of the House Oversight and Judiciary committees wrote “corporate censorship of political speech raise[s] serious concerns about Meta’s dedication to ensuring free and fair elections.”

In Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, Vector suggests Sage having a playdate with Charmy.
Sage then says that was the dumbest shit she ever heard to his face. Rude.

For the record, I use vector lines and flats to make lineless art stuff. It really speeds up the process and make it easier to edit.
