Veilshatter is a gothic horror novel about a Japanese picture bride stuck in her dead husband’s English manor and surrounded by ghosts. This one has undead lesbians, otherworldly storms, evil curses born from love, and lots and lots of broken glass.

When I was first coming up with the concept for Veilshatter, Koharu’s character was originally going to be Russian. I ended up making her Japanese, as that was more historically accurate and opened the door for run-ins with Yokai in Victorian England, which is super cool.

Definitely Eloise, from my current WIP “Veilshatter.” She longs to travel, but is forbidden from leaving the house (partially for safety reasons, but mostly because she is literally incapable of crossing any exterior thresholds). This is maddening for her, as you can imagine.
