September reads. Lots of great stuff here, particularly Wimmy Road Boyz and The Gustav Sonata. It was really nice to immerse myself in fiction again, but October is going to be more non-fiction focused as I dive back into final (!) edits on my own novel...

A collage of seven book covers: The Correspondent by Virginia Evans, Verdigris by Michele Mari, Our Little Group by Patricia Rivers, Wimmy Road Boyz by Sufiyaan Salam, The Book of Venice ed. by Orsola Casagrande, The Gustav Sonata by Rose Tremain, Paradises Lost by Ursula K Le Guin.

I, too very much enjoy the Ferrero Rocher characters. 🤎 I also think Verdigris deserves good things. He tries very hard. 🥺

A procedurally generated Islamic geometric tile mosaic: a seamless repeating pattern of interlocking twelve-pointed stars separated by polygonal tiles. I couldn't take part at the time due to poor health, so I'm throwing them all in together to let people choose. 😊

A wip portrait of my Durge, Molvayas. He's a draconic sorcerer who looks like a pale drow with a heavily scarred, traditionally handsome face and one eye. He looks angry about something off-screen.

A low angle painted portrait of my banite dragonborn, Verdigris, with his head tilted back. He is actually a bronze / black dragon in disguise.
(This painting is outdated and he now has pale yellow eyes instead of silver.)

A meme drawing asking, "what your OC thinks of my OC".
I'm sorry, I do not know the original artist to credit.

Text with a red arrow pointing left which says, "let your followers tell you one thing they like about your OC".

15. What is a risk you've taken that paid off?

"I revealed my true form to #Molvayas whilst defending him from a dragon dominated by the Absolute.
Then I betrayed my god by swearing an oath of loyalty (crown) to Archduke Gortash.

Sleeping Buddha, Nanzoin Temple, Fukuoka, Japan.

Gently resting its head upon its hand in peaceful meditation, the colossal bronze Reclining Buddha (Nehanzō) reclines against a backdrop of dense mountain foliage. The statue’s soft verdigris patina glows beneath a diffuse sky, highlighting the calm, serene contours of its closed eyes, sculpted hair curls (nikkei), and golden byakugō mark on its forehead. In the foreground, neat rows of dark stone memorial steles, meticulously engraved with gilded Japanese characters, stand like quiet guardians at the foot of the monumental figure. The scene invokes an ethereal sensory atmosphere: the crisp mountain air of Sasaguri, the fragrant drift of burning incense from nearby altars, the rustle of cedar leaves in the valley breeze, and a profound, enveloping silence that settles over the sacred sanctuary
Located at Nanzo-in Temple in Sasaguri, Fukuoka Prefecture, this grand bronze monument—stretching 41 meters in length, 11 meters in height, and weighing approximately 300 tons—is celebrated as one of the largest bronze statues in the world. Erected in 1995, the Nehanzō was constructed to house sacred Buddhist relics gifted from Myanmar as an expression of gratitude for decades of medical supplies and humanitarian aid provided by the temple. Nanzo-in also serves as the chief location on the historic Sasaguri 88 Temple Pilgrimage route, welcoming pilgrims into the forested hills of Kyushu. The extraordinary bronze casting and structural engineering required to realize the massive monument embody the zenith of Japanese monozukuri (artisanal mastery and technological precision), integrating monumental art harmoniously within the surrounding topography.

Verdigris appreciates it. Then the loneliness creeps in... he tells himself it was for the best, knocks back the rest of his drink and leaves to go hunt a giant squid, or something.

A low, rumbling growl of warning reverberates through Tirion's body. Too often has #Verdigris been denied his need to dominate another due to politics, and he's strung tight.

I am curious and want to know, Your Tav/durge/oc has had a stressful day and is at the local tavern to blow off steam.

Tirion approaches and offers to buy them a drink in a classic flirt, clearly wanting to help ease stress. Do they accept?

Verdigris stands by the Archduke, who has since pulled his chair closer to the meeting table. He's looking through the file of papers you recognise as the orders given from the Banites earlier.

They lift a paw and mimic the special knock they've heard Verdigris use several other times that day. Though, while the rhythm is correct, in their case it is not so much a series of knocks as it is a series of paw slaps.
