The Vero Beach City Council approved a 30-year commercial lease with Envision Parking Partners for expanded airport parking, with one councilmember voicing concern that the contract shifts long-term value of public airport land to a private operator.

After reviewing the airport master plan, councilmembers asked staff to hold a community charrette with visual renditions and online survey options to collect public input on terminal expansion, parking and future growth; staff will return with a timeline and coordination plan.

Vero Beach Regional Airport staff told council that JetBlue service begins Dec. 11 and American Airlines service starts Feb. 12. Terminal rehabilitation and a multi-part parking strategy — new employee lot, delayed Parking Lot C construction, and negotiations with a private parking operator — are underway.
