An Kvívík vorbei geht es auf den letzten Abschnitt für heute, die Stadt Vestmanna. Vestmanna ist nach Tórshavn die zweitgrößte Stadt auf Streymoy. Als Abschluss gibt es hier alleine vier Panoramabilder von Vestmanna. 6/6

Für unseren fünften Tag haben wir uns eine Bootsfahrt gegönnt. Von Vestmanna aus soll es dabei an der Küste der Nachbarinsel heruntergehen bis zum Trøllkonufingur (Trollweibsfinger oder Hexenfinger). Für die Fahrt nach Vestmanna haben wir die schnelle Route gewählt. 1/10

In Vestmanna gibt es aber noch einiges mehr zu entdecken. Als Elektriker interessierte mich zum Beispiel das Wasserkraftwerk, die bunten Häuschen im Hafen oder die Sturmsicherung.

Für unseren dritten Tag auf den Färöern haben wir uns für die Strecke von Tórshavn nach Vestmanna entschieden. Wettertechnisch hat sich das als goldrichtig herausgestellt. Entsprechend müsst ihr unter den ganzen Panoramabildern etwas leiden. Los geht es mit Tórshavn... 1/6

Eine Gruppe von Grindwalen wurde in der Nähe der Stadt gesichtet - aber im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen Fällen wurden sie nicht an Land getrieben und getötet.
Die Behörden erklärten, es gebe noch reichlich Grindwalfleisch vom letzten Grindadráp in Leynar.

Her kan også møte i Vestmanna-laget anbefales. Der kan man føle seg ung til langt oppi 60-årene. Som ekstra bonus får man også være vitne til mye kjekling om språkreformer fra 30- og 40-tallet.

Var på Färöarna juni 2018 och tog båtturen från Vestmanna för att få se lunnefåglar men vi fick inte se en endaste :( .. en massa får på sluttningarna istället.
