Black and white image shows an expansive fog bank blanketing a cold windswept beach. A dirt road, cordoned off with weathered wood poles and barbed wire, travels from the left and reaches down to a dead end of native grass—but the beach’s beginning. The lone fence continues but travels away from the beach up and in front of a few private homes built far from the timeless arctic waves. The rock beach gives way to off-white sand where intrepid surfers, kept warm by rented dry suits, patiently wait for the next perfect swell.

Tidlegare var Lofoten namnet på Vestvågøya. Så vart det utvida til å inkludere Austvågøya, Flakstadøya, Moskenesøya, og også Værøy og Røst. Men at Ofoten no og vil vere med i Lofoten, den såg eg ikkje kome

Interessant. Vestvågøya kalles altså Lofodens øe i 1743.

Derifra til Lofoten airport er et godt stykke altså.

Skjermdump fra lofotposten.no med overskrifta "Steinras over E10 - en bil står fast" og bilde av raset som har gått over hele veien. Det står biler på andre sida og i bakgrunnen er det hav og bratte fjell som jeg tror må være Vestvågøya.

Var Lofoten kun Vestvågøya? Det visste æ ikke.
Men det passer med en usikker og upålitelig hukommelse om at min foreldregenerasjon skilte mellom Vágik og Lufuohttá.

Starting to move homeward, since we have to be at work next week, and we are starting to miss our kitties.

It was rainy today, so we did a small walk and then a lot of drives and stops for the scenery, as you do in Norway.
