Thune bailing on North Carolina has the added bonus of depressing GOP turnout for the state legislature races. They are going to lose some seats here and with Governor Stein able to sustain vetoes, a very different environment for the state budget.

Thank you. Just like his veto of california single payer, his reason is good. It can't work in single states because of medicaid payments, and he is one hundred percent for national single payer. I haven't researched these new vetoes.

Even from a cold, logical perspective, I don't understand his behavior. He obviously wants to run for president and seems lead by ambition rather than integrity. But how can he think these vetoes will help him win the primary? Unless he's given up running and is mostly looking for money now?
