Vianode und cylib wollen beim Einsatz von recyceltem Graphit für Batterien zusammenarbeiten. Am 2. Juni 2026 haben die Unternehmen dazu eine Absichtserklärung unterzeichnet. Nach weiteren Prüfungen und erfolgreichen Ergebnissen wollen beide Seiten über eine kommerzielle Vereinbarung verhandeln. Im Mittelpunkt steht Graphitkonzentrat, das cylib aus recycelten Batteriematerialien gewinnt. Vianode soll untersuchen, ob sich dieses Material für Anoden der nächsten Batteriegeneration eignet. Dazu sind Tests, Rezepturentwicklungen und Pilotprojekte vorgesehen. Ziel ist es, die technische Eignung für eine spätere Nutzung im kommerziellen Maßstab zu bewerten. Im Rahmen der geplanten Zusammenarbeit soll cylib Graphitkonzentrat aus Batterieabfällen, schwarzer Masse oder Produktionsausschuss zurückgewinnen. Die dafür genutzte wasserbasierte OLiC-Technologie erreicht laut Unternehmensangaben Rückgewinnungsraten von über 90 Prozent für Lithium, Graphit, Nickel, Kobalt und Mangan. Außerdem soll der CO₂-Fußabdruck um 80 Prozent niedriger liegen als bei der Primärgewinnung.
