Parcours, Suvi Loponen Parcours has launched the Strade GT, the first wheelset in its new GT series and the first road wheelset to feature what the brand calls VibraCORE, a technology that integrates recycled carbon fibre into the rim to reduce the vibration transmitted to the rider. Wheels are a market saturated with lightweight, premium options, and arguably one where two attributes dominate: aerodynamics and weight. And wheel brands are pushing up against limits right now on improvements. As founder Dov Tate told _Escape Collective_ : "From an aero perspective, we've sort of really juiced the orange as far as we can at this point. Within reason, I think there are still pieces that we can tweak around the edge, but we're seeing as products are launched, it's sort of very small benefits, very minor upgrades." The Strade GT still gives the orange another squeeze for those minor gains, but also looks to other attributes to improve the product. Despite using novel technology, Parcours has not quite re-invented the wheel. Below, we go deeper into the VibraCORE technology, how Parcours landed on using it, and what 15 months of testing showed. Introducing the Strade GT, the first wheelset in Parcours’ new GT Series. It is built as a premium platform for riders who want aerodynamic efficiency, stability and long-distance comfort in a single system. - Parcours Website At the centre of the Strade GT is VibraCORETM, developed in collaboration with Lineat and Nottingham Trent University. VibraCORE integrates Lineat's AFFTTM reclaimed aligned carbon fibre material directly into the spoke bed of the rim, reducing vibration at a structural level. ​​The idea is simple and well-recognised: if vibration transmitted through the wheel system can be reduced, riders can stay fresher for longer, and ultimately ride faster and further.
