A Hitachi magic wand is so named for the spells coded into the original model, "Orgasm", Shockwave", and "Explosive Runes". The Magic Wand Original is named in honor of returning to those three. Intermediary models used Divine spells, like "Create "Water"", after the sale of the toy to Vibratex.

not firsthand, but I did think of getting one and thus looked around a bit. for the US, it seems like a lot of people swear by the original hitachi/vibratex. those aren't available in europe though (different voltages), so some alternatives I heard recommended were a Doxy or a Lovense domi

I've had a plug in vibratex, formerly hitachi, for the last 6 years and it still works as good as it did day one
