#VideoShops
A lot of the Blockbuster nostalgia is either American, or from Brits who are in their late 20s/early 30s. Certainly if you are late 30s onwards, you will remember the local videoshops more.

I agree. My nostalgia for the days when renting a movie was the norm all link back to the multitude of small, local videoshops near my childhood home (3 I regularly used and a couple of others that were occasional uses).
I always find it a bit odd to see fond nostalgia memes for Blockbuster Video. They were overpriced and a bit crap.

The local video places where you could get 3 videos for a quid were absolutely class and they had all the cool video nasties. Until the likes of Blockbuster put them out of business.

at least now I’m not working in videoshops so it’s largely someone else’s problem beyond pulling faces at things I stumble onto online. I’m not going to get banned from Woolies for buying the car chase videos in the news that week for the boss to rent out anymore.

For a start, there’s no Woolies.
