The 1977 head-lobbing martial arts classic, first time ever on Blu-ray featuring a new 35mm scan.Deep in the forbidding Valley of No Return, a reclusive master, driven to madness by his own obsessive training, perfects a nightmarish weapon - the "Lightning Strike," a savage evolution of the flying guillotine with twin, whirling blades designed for maximum carnage. Any intruder who dares cross into his domain faces instant decapitation with ruthless precision. But when a vengeance-driven fighter (Carter Wong) sets his sights on the valley, seeking justice for his mother's death, he must confront both the master's deadly invention and the head-chopping chaos it leaves in its wake.Arriving cheaply and quickly in the fury of the flying guillotine craze that swept 1970s international martial arts cinema, The Fatal Flying Guillotine taps into the era's appetite for outrageous kung fu spectacles sparked by the breakout 1976 smash hit Master of the Flying Guillotine. This off-brand Taiwanese entry escalates the formula with its delirious titular weapon variation and near-constant combat - while blending mystical elements, rival factions, double crosses and Buddhist brawls into one of the more kinetic and memorable examples of the short-lived but legendary trend.Bonus MaterialsNew 2K transfer from original film elements supervised and composited by film archivist Toby Russell Commentary with Justin Decloux of the Important Cinema Club PodcastA Brief History of Flying Guillotine Movies: Video EssayChan Siu-Pang Was There: Video Essay Actor Carter Wong Archival InterviewChan Siu-Pang: 10 Styles of Tamo demonstrationFatal Flying Guillotine: old school ‘Dirty VHS’ versionImage galleryIncludes both English dubbed and original Chinese language optionsOptional English Subtitles (English Dub version only)Visual Vengeance trailersFolded mini-poster featuring original theatrical artReversible sleeve featuring alternate VHS artOptional English Subtitles (English Dub version only)‘Stick Your Own’ VHS stickers (FIRST PRESSING ONLY)Imitation Decapitation - liner notes booklet by C.J. Bret MCCormick's super obscure SOV oddity, first time ever on disc. The fraternity brothers at Delta Epsilon Delta are your typical red-blooded American party animals, that is except for Edgar Allen Lovecraft. He's locked up in his room trying to cure death and finds a serum that works on the severed head of a recently deceased comedian. When a mafia hood steals the serum to use on his murdered squeeze, her reanimated corpse goes on a campus killing spree - let the corny puns and one-punch decapitations fly!Reanimator Academy was produced down and dirty for the booming early 90s video store rental market by legendary producer David DeCoteau (Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama) and directed by the equally renowned Bret McCormick (The Abomination), under what is possibly the best pseudonym ever used in a film. This silly send-up of Lovecraftian lore and cinematic tropes will leave you feeling as hungover and headless as a three-kegger blowout would.First time ever on disc following its initial VHS release.Bonus MaterialsTransfer from existing SD tape mastersCommentary from Sam Panico of B&S About Movies and Bill Van Ryn of Drive-In AsylumTalking Heads: director Bret McCormick InterviewBack To School: Reanimator Academy Location TourBrainwaves: Scoring Reanimator AcademyInterview with actor Tom FeganFred The Head interviewReanimator Academy: 2023 director’s alternate soundtrack cutBonus film: Bret McCormick’s Children of Dracula (1994)Bret McCormick interview: Children of DraculaBret McCormick Reanimator Academy Q&A - Nitehawk CinemaVisual Vengeance trailersOptional English SubtitlesFolded mini-posterReversible sleeve featuring original VHS art‘Stick Your Own’ VHS stickers (FIRST PRESSING ONLY)Limited Edition slipcase art by Giorgio Credaro (FIRST PRESSING ONLY)Limited Edition Video Store Card (FIRST PRESSING ONLY)Cast & CrewActors: Connie Speer as Hot Lips Steve Westerheit Benton Jennings Tricia Anderson Richard Perrin Sarah PaxtonDirector: Judith Priest

In a 19th century village, a young girl is haunted by visions of local children, who soon turn up murdered. Laurin is a quiet and precocious adolescent girl living in rural 1901 Germany. She voyeuristically observes the behavior of the self-absorbed grownups around her, all of them seemingly oblivious to the fact that this strange little girl is growing up alone. While her father is away at sea, her mother's violent death leaves Laurin effectively orphaned and unsupervised. Now, a murderer has begun targeting Laurin's classmates, and Laurin has begun having terrifying hallucinations of the children. The grownups are desperate to catch the killer, but they're woefully ignorant of the dark, secret world right under their noses. An evil has surfaced in their seemingly idyllic village, deeply rooted in childhood traumas and long-buried secrets...and no child is safe.Writer/director Robert Sigl's ambitious and powerful debut shocked audiences on its initial release, and never failed to spark controversy across Europe. For the film's 35th anniversary, Visual Vengeance proudly presents Laurin in its first-ever North American release - and Sigl's moody, atmospheric Gothic thriller has lost none of its impact in the intervening years. This director-approved special edition of the critically acclaimed film is loaded with extras, including archival materials from the director's private vaults as well as new bonus features created exclusively for this release.
