Reminder for anyone wanting to install a land line for emergencies (ie if the cell towers go down for whatever reason), check you’re getting a traditional land line installed, and NOT a VOIP ‘land’ line. VOIPs stop functioning as soon as power or internet go down. So they’re useless for emergencies.

When i was a Fed I had 2 VOIPs and a classic phone on my desk, the vintage phone only rang once, in like 5 years. The REAL metal bell was so loud it scared the crap out o the whole office.
