This comparison is made a lot but it doesn't work. VAs are cast off voiceprint, not identity, that's why cis women voice boys.

yeah this entire issue with studios is exactly why i am so annoyed because i often find myself excited and really great at male roles despite being a trans woman, but i guess that’s a problem??

Nah, we should mock them and hold them accountable for the gig they’ve effectively stolen from others. There are plenty of capable talent who can either deliver a similar voiceprint pr bring an entirely fresh approach to the job, and they should have that opportunity over someone not doing the work.
