You round a corner to bump into Volaire, falling to the ground. As you dust yourself off and look up, he's grinning down at you, offering a paw that's holding a massive bundle of balloons.

"Seems you need a lift."

As you take his paw, each string he's holding curls possessively around your paw.
The skunk Volaire, holding a large bundle of balloons in one paw, as he inflates a heart balloon with the other. A hose goes to a small helium tank. He's grinning and offering the huge bundle to you.

As a geologist I immediately beelined to this painting ‘The Eruption of Vesuvius’ by Pierre-Jacques Volaire at the Art Institute of Chicago. I kept thinking the silhouetted people were early volcanologists. 😝
