“Buffalo Bill’s”. That always makes me chuckle. Every gosh darn time. #WASHParty

Joining the #WASHParty, as WE ARE STILL HERE is one of my fav horror films - fav films period (it made my top 100) - of the last decade. I kinda think this might just be @barbaracrampton’s finest work. She and Andrew Sensenig are terrific together.

This car gag is bonkers, too. It’s perfect. #WASHParty

I absolute adore Wojciech Golczewski’s subtly menacing score. It really burrows under your skin and builds in insidious intensity at the same rate events in the story do. #WASHParty

The ghosts in this film so imaginatively unique. Authentic. There’s something freakishly tactile about them.

And they run. Which is terrifying. Ghosts aren’t supposed to run. #WASHParty

I don’t think we talk enough about just how great, and how despicably evil, Monte Markham is in this movie. As villains go, he’s pretty horrifying, in many ways more than the Dagmars are. #WASHParty

Not gonna lie, the stuff that’s about to happen freaked me the f**k out the first time I watched this. And I’m REALLY tough to freak the f**k out. Lisa Marie’s psychic reaction messes me up, too. #WASHParty

Think what ultimately makes this film so effective is that the marriages are authentic. We truly believe Anne and Paul, and subsequently May and Jacob, would all be together. Their love is genuine. This makes what ends up happening all the more devastating. #WASHParty

This is how you do exposition, my friends. We learn so much in such a creatively unsettling (and upsetting) way. Masterfully done. #WASHParty

Hold on to your butts, gang. Things are REALLY about to kick into high gear now. This isn’t for the faint of heart. #WASHParty

For me, at least, as glorious as so much of this film is, as honest and as authentic as the relationships are, it is the final scene coming up that makes this film soar into the stratosphere. This last image wrecks me. The look on Andrew Sensenig’s face is perfect. ❤️ #WASHParty
