WB did a good job of reworking the plot into a standard Hero's Journey with a happy status-quo ending, and I do think the movies were way better, but they're still very much carried by the weight of the worldbuilding and the fandom, rather than the plot itself. The whole franchise only succeeded b-

On a similar note, the man who did most of the WB voices did not pronounce his name like Benoit Blanc. He was born Mel Blank, but after a teacher insulted him by saying he’d grow up to be a blank just like his name, he changed the spelling but kept the pronunciation.
